About Dr Calum Patrick
Dr Calum Patrick is a GP partner, Clinical Director and Honorary Clinical Lecturer based in Glasgow, with a background in primary care, leadership, and technology. He has long-standing experience in digital innovation, strategic planning, and organisational communication.
He graduated in medicine with honours from the University of Manchester, following a first-class intercalated degree at the University of St Andrews. After GP training in Ayrshire, he spent a year in New Zealand working across general practice, out-of-hours care, and prison medicine, before returning to Scotland to develop his expertise in acute and primary care. He later trained in Prehospital Emergency Care, qualified as an Advanced Life Support instructor, and completed a PGCert in medical ultrasound.
Since 2023, Calum has been a partner at Clarkston Medical, where he combines patient care with responsibility for operational strategy, digital transformation, and quality improvement. In 2025, he was appointed Clinical Director for East Dunbartonshire HSCP.
Beyond clinical practice, he has founded two health technology companies, contributed to NHS digital transformation, and has a background in software development and Unix administration. His primary interests lie at the intersection of medicine, technology, and strategic communication, focused on improving patient experience and simplifying care delivery.
